World Environment Day Celebrated at Mount Carmel School, Kadaganchi

Mount Carmel School, Kadaganchi, in collaboration with Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust, joyfully celebrated World Environment Day with a series of engaging and meaningful activities that highlighted the importance of environmental conservation. The event was presided over by Fr. Sylvester D’Souza, President of Carmel Gnan Education Trust, who inaugurated the celebration by planting a sapling on the school campus. In his address, Fr. Sylvester emphasized that preserving the environment is a shared responsibility. He reminded students that a healthy environment is the foundation of a healthy life, and urged everyone to:

  • Plant more trees to green the earth

  • Reduce the use of plastic to prevent soil and water pollution

  • Protect and conserve natural resources

“Let us preserve greenery and live healthy lives in a clean environment,” he urged the gathering.

As part of the celebration, students delivered inspiring speeches and performed creative skits to spread awareness about pressing environmental issues and solutions.

Also present at the event were Fr. Deepak Thomas (School Manager), Fr. Sandeep (Principal), Fr. William Miranda (Secretary, Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust), along with school staff and students. This celebration reflected the school’s and Trust’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, fostering eco-consciousness among the younger generation for a sustainable future.
