History & Milestone

Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust was established by the Discalced Carmelites of the Karnataka-Goa Province with a primary focus on social welfare activities. The Provincial Superior serves as the President of the Trust. It was officially registered on 26th January 2005 at the Huvinahadagali Taluk Registrar Office, Vijayanagar District, under the Department of Stamps and Registration Act, 1957, Section 10A (Book No. IV-08/2004-05).

The Trust is committed to the upliftment of the downtrodden, neglected, and underprivileged sections of society, regardless of caste, creed, language, or nationality.

In 2017, the Trust expanded by opening a new unit named Prerana Social Welfare Centre in Jagalur Taluk, Davanagere District. Recently, another unit named Sannidhi Social Welfare Centre was established in Kadaganchi, Aland Taluk, Kalaburagi District.
