Eye Health Camp at Mount Carmel School

On September 22, 2025, a free eye check-up camp was held at Mount Carmel C.B.S.E. School in Kadaganchi. The event was a collaborative effort between the school, the Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust, and Anugraha Eye Hospital, Kalaburagi. The camp provided eye care services to 253 people, including students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff.

The program was inaugurated by all the guests, who symbolized the start of the event by watering a plant. Following the inauguration, Fr. William Miranda, Secretary of the Carmel Jyothi Trust, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of eye health. He noted a concerning trend: eye problems, once prevalent among the elderly, are now becoming common in children due to the increased use of mobile phones. He advised students to limit their screen time to protect their eyesight.

The camp was a success thanks to the dedicated support of several individuals. The medical team from Anugraha Eye Hospital included Mr. Santosh N., Chetan B., Jagadish, and Kamalakar. They were assisted by Mount Carmel School staff members Mr. Thomas, Ms. Christina, and Br. Fleming, as well as the school’s Head Girl and Head Boy.
