20-09-2024, Free Eye Check-up Camp at Kadaganchi PHC A free eye screening camp was conducted today at Kadaganchi Primary Health Centre in collaboration with Carmel Sannidhi Social Service Institute (a unit of Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust), Drashti Eye Hospital Kalaburagi, District Health and Family Welfare Department, District Blindness Control Program Kalaburagi, Taluk Health Officer’s Office Aland, and PHC Kadaganchi. The program was inaugurated by Kadaganchi Gram Panchayat President Smt. Indumati by watering a plant. A total of 192 people were screened for eye issues, out of which 50 were selected for cataract surgery. 72 individuals were provided with eyeglasses. The event was attended by Fr. Deepak Thomas, Manager of Mount Carmel School, Fr. William Miranda, Secretary of Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust, Dr. Shilpa, LHBI Savita Madam, and eye specialists Mr. Nagesh, Shiraj Dastagiri, Dhan Sham, Anisha Archana, and their team.

23-09-2024, Free Cataract Surgeries. In collaboration with Drashti Eye Hospital, Kalaburagi, 12 successful cataract surgeries were conducted. Dr. Navaneeth and hir team performed the surgeries. Present at the occasion were Fr. William Miranda, Br. Melrick, Mr. Prakash (Head of Drashti Eye Hospital), Mr. Nagesh, and staff members.

26-10-2024, Nutrition Support for TB Patients. Nutrition kits were distributed to 10 TB patients in the Kadaganchi Hobli of Aland Taluk by Carmel Sannidhi Social Service Institute. The event was attended by Fr. Sylvester D’Souza (Chief Officer), Fr. Deepak Thomas (Superior and Manager, Mount Carmel School), Fr. William Miranda (Secretary), Dr. Vishad B (Senior Treatment Officer), and ASHA workers. Each patient received one tray of eggs, pulses, and nutritional powder sufficient for a month. This support will continue for six months. Fr. William Miranda expressed the goal to make Aland a TB-free Taluk by reaching 99 TB patients in the next phase.

16-11-2024, Free Eye Check-up Camp with Dharmasthala BC Trust Conducted in partnership with Drashti Eye Hospital, District Health Department, Blindness Control Program, and Aland Taluk Health Office. Mr. Sushil Kumar, Taluk Health Officer, inaugurated the event. 149 participants benefited. Dignitaries included Project Officer Mr. Krishnappa Belavanari, Fr. William Miranda, Fr. Deepak, Ms. Renuka Hirekudi (Jnanavikas Officer), Dr. Shwetha, Dr. Leelakshi, and others.

26-11-2024, 2nd Round Nutrition Support for TB Patients Conducted at Kadaganchi PHC for 10 TB patients. Taluk Health Officer Dr. Sushil Kumar appreciated the Trust’s efforts. Nutritious items, including eggs, horse gram, and pulses, were distributed.

28-11-2024, Free Health Check-up for School Children. A camp was held at Mount Carmel School for students, supported by Sujani Mother & Child Hospital, Kalaburagi. 235 children were screened and medicines distributed. Doctors and staff from Sujani Hospital participated.

16-12-2024, Free Eye Check-up Camp at Kadaganchi PHC A free eye check-up camp was organized today at the Kadaganchi Primary Health Centre in collaboration, Drashti Eye Hospital, Kalaburagi, District Health and Family Welfare Department, District Blindness Control Program Kalaburagi, Taluk Health Office Aland, and PHC Kadaganchi. The program was inaugurated by the President of Kadaganchi Gram Panchayat, Smt. Indumati, by watering a plant. A total of 63 people underwent eye screening, out of which 15 were selected for cataract surgeries. Present at the event were Fr. Deepak Thomas, Manager of Mount Carmel School, Fr. William Miranda, Secretary of Carmel Jyothi Trust, Dr.Meenaj, Dr Shilpa, Dr. Gurushanthappa, LHBI Savita Madam, eye specialists Mr. Nagesh, Shiraj Dastagiri, Dhan Sham, Anisha Archana, and their team.

27-12-2024, 3rd Month Nutrition Support for TB Patients. Nutrition kits were distributed for the third consecutive month at Kadaganchi PHC. Present were Dr. Shilpa, Ms. Savita (Senior Health Officer), Fr. William Miranda, Mr. Abhishek, and Mr. Santosh (Lab Technician).

6-01-2025, Distribution of 40 Bifocal Glasses. After a previous eye screening camp, 40 bifocal glasses were given to poor rural patients in Kadaganchi. Present were Fr. William Miranda, Fr. Deepak Thomas, Fr. Prakash, Fr. Elias, and local leaders.

22-01-2025, 278 Screened in Free Health Camp at St. Mary’s School, Aland, Conducted by Carmel Jyothi Trust, Sujani Hospital, and St. Mary’s School. Fr. William Miranda inaugurated with a health awareness message. 278 people (210 children and 68 women) benefited. Doctors from Sujani Hospital carried out the screenings.

28-01-2025, 4th Month Nutrition Support for TB Patients. Nutrition kits were distributed for the third consecutive month at Kadaganchi PHC. Present were Dr. Shilpa, Ms. Savita (Senior Health Officer), Fr. William Miranda, and Br. Melric, Mr. Abhishek, and Mr. Santosh (Lab Technician).

14-02-2025, Free Antenatal Health Camp for Pregnant Women Held at Kadaganchi PHC with Sujani Hospital. Fr. William Miranda stressed the importance of maternal health. 89 pregnant women attended. Medicines were distributed as needed.

18-02-2025, Nutrition Support with Awareness Speech Fr. William Miranda delivered a speech on the value of balanced nutrition, especially for growing children and pregnant women. Kits including eggs, grains, and protein mix were distributed.

08-03-2025, International Women’s Day Celebration. International Women’s Day Celebration Held in Kadaganchi Mount Carmel School premises. A talk was given by Fr. Sandeep Govious on women’s empowerment, education, and social contribution. Kadaganchi Grama Panchayath President Mrs. Indumathi, Kadaganchi PDO Mrs. Usha Patel, Fr. Deepak Thomas the manager of MCSK, Br. Melric Fr. William Miranda and the staff were present. Cultural activities and games were organized. Winners were awarded prizes. ASHA workers, school teaching and non-teaching staff actively participated

12-03-2025, Free Dental Camp for Prisoners Organized at Kalaburagi Central Prison by Carmel Trust and Al-Badar Dental College Kalaburgi. Dr. Anitha chief Superintendent, along with other dignitaries, inaugurated the camp. 67 inmates received dental check-ups, treatment, and medicines. Fr. William Miranda, Fr.Deepak Thomas, Fr. Maxim S.J., and the Al-Badar dental team and Prison staff were present.

22-03-2025, Free Distribution of 16 Eyeglasses. Eyeglasses were distributed to 16 poor individuals with vision problems in Aland and nearby villages. Fr. William Miranda, Br. Melric, Representatives of Dharmasthala Rural Trust JVK.MadamMrs. Renuka, Mrs. Suvarna SP were present.

24-03-2025, Award for Fr. William Miranda in collaboration with the District Administration and Zilla Panchayat Kalaburagi, and the District Health and Family Welfare Department Kalaburagi, World Tuberculosis Day was observed at the New Zilla Panchayat Auditorium. On this occasion, Fr. William Miranda, Secretary of Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust, was honored with a felicitation award by Mr. Bhanwar Singh Meena, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Kalaburagi, in recognition of the Trust’s service of providing nutritional support to TB patients in Aland Taluk. Present at the event were Dr. Sharanabasappa, Dr. Shankrappa Mailari, Assistant Directors from the Office of the Divisional Joint Director Kalaburagi, Deputy Director Dr. A. S. 5-03-2025. Stationary items for the dying Destitute.

C.J.P.C.T. provided stationery items to the dying destitute of Sudhamma Destitute Centre, Harihara. 34 inmates are taken care of by the Missionaries of Charity Sisters. They were provided with bathing and washing soaps, detergent powder, toothpaste and tooth brushes and Tea powder.

26-03-2025. POSH act awareness to the Staff of Central Jail. Kalaburagi.

The sexual harassment of women at workplace (prevention, Prohibition and redressal) Act, 2013 was explained to the staff of Central prison, Kalaburagi. Program was inaugurated by the chief superintendent of prison Dr. Anitha.Fr. William Miranda explained the Act through the PowerPoint. He explained what harassment is, types of harassment, formation of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), complaint timeline, inquiry, and Action and Confidentiality. Fr. Deepak Thomas, Fr. Maxim S.J. Sr. Jayshree BS. Miss Veronica and the staff were present.

World Women’s Day celebration at Central Jail, Kalaburagi.

It was a special occasion given to us by the superintendent of Central Prison-Gulbarga Dr. Anith f to organize World Women’s Day for the women prisoners. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Anith by lighting the lamp. Sr. Jayshree.BS. Miss Veronica, along with the lady staff, organized a few games for the inmates. After games, some fun and laughter, all were awarded with colorful nighties sponsored by Carmel Jyothi Public Charitable Trust.
